The pro-aborts are continuing their propaganda campaign in North Dakota. Here’s one tidbit from the North Dakota Coalition for Baby-Killing website:
A personhood law would force one religious view onto all citizens through law - infringing on our religious freedom. Not every religion believes that life begins at conception. For example, in the Jewish faith, people believe life begins at birth.
There are several reasons this claim is wrong:
First, by this standard, the current law that allows people to butcher their unborn babies “force[s] one religious view onto all citizens through law - infringing on our religious freedom.” After all, “Not every religion believes that life begins at [birth].” Some religions actually believe that truth matters. The law currently forces pro-lifers to stand idly by, in direct contradiction of their religious beliefs, while babies are murdered.
Second, a personhood law doesn’t force anyone to believe anything. Pro-aborts could go on believing that it’s ok to butcher unborn children, they just wouldn’t be able to legally butcher unborn children.
Last and most important, those who kill unborn babies and those who support such killings are forcing their religious views on unborn children. And they use lethal force against unborn children to impose that religious view. A personhood law isn’t force but the prevention of such deadly force against the innocent.
